Seeing the obvious?

In one of the few private sessions I had with a teacher he told me to see life as a soap opera. Not very profound I thought, but maybe did mean to watch it all as an observer as there's nothing I can do to change it as it's been written already. It does seem that way sometimes. With my clients with actual outside problems like illness, bereavement or disability which aren't of their own creation in any way it's a different ballgame from the usual confused ones. They are routine, but for people who can't change anything firstly few actually see them as an issue as most people accept their situation automatically. They go off on other tangents which I can work with, but if was just their fixed part could only say to do what they are able to, not focus on the problem, think of any activity they may have missed and try and lighten the situation in any way I can.

So for my own situation if I had someone else with it I could only check those points and do little more. I can't cure things in people's lives, no one can except reportedly Jesus, whereas Buddha who came first taught people to accept things exactly as they were at the time. A high aim but one I believe is possible. Till then we can only make the best of it. The typical game of pontoon, do we stick on 17 or bust? Do we take the only decent offer we've had for years and be stuck/content with it or wait for possible nothing better? I think these answer themselves over time, I've lost a few good ones in the past when too green to know what to do, but that's a long time back. I know a good chance when I see it now and if only passable rather than ideal is a big compromise to take which in the female department would not be doing myself justice and would still be looking elsewhere which is not a good idea.

So if I'm given a task I will carry it out sooner or later, and later if it takes time to assimilate. I hope like the better soap operas this one will become more interesting and work out some of its bugs to decent conclusions. I think most do sooner or later, and the other benefit of soaps is the issues don't actually affect you. That must be another point he meant, although these carbon taxes do reduce my bank account although not in any effective way (so far). And knowing the number of liars, cheats and utter morons out there doesn't help either as they get on my nerves whenever they open their mouths in public or to me directly. I honestly didn't realise the collective IQ was so poor, each time the IPCC or some cunt who is paid to tell stories gets caught yet again they all say it doesn't affect the science. Now if the science was good you wouldn't have people cheating to present the case would you? IQ failure every bloody time.
So as I didn't spend three years studying law for nothing I can use the degree to say that whatever people's knowledge of their own profession it's always limited by their own capabilities. So when 99.9% of a profession believes the cause of stomach ulcers while one doctor doesn't, the minority just has more ability than the rest. So we have one Hungarian climatologist who has shown from current measurements (not computerised guessing machines) that CO2 can't raise the temperature, gets a peer review and that's it. Ignored. The majority (97% consensus if you believe the small sample claim of the leaders) couldn't work it out as a couple said 'it's not clear why it's getting warmer (er, nature mate) so it MUST be man made CO2, and the rest clapped and joined the religion that pays their own massively increased energy bills.

You shouldn't need an IQ over 100 let alone a law degree to see all this clearly, yet only the wise and wonderful, to borrow a hymn, seem to get it we do seem to be fucked unless one by one these sheep's low intelligence is challenged so much by new revelations the threshhold for noticing it will gradually fall until not enough are left to keep the bubble afloat.

These exercises are the same for my own IQ as the gym is for my body, but in the end would like to win a campaign rather than go along for the journey and get absolutely nowhere. It also builds my journalistic experience, collecting and communicating ideas, which is the plan for my next career move (will announce in a month please god), and doubt that sitting back and waiting for global warming to blow itself out will be more satisfying or beneficial than watching Big Brother or an election and not voting myself in case it makes a difference. Then you can't complain you didn't do something whatever the outcome. I meet many new people as well, as well as some absolutely revolting opponents. I just said elsewhere that besides the clear left-right divide (the left are those who wish to impose on others that which they could never bear themselves) there's a connection with belief in global warming and religion. Should be as the two are only faces of the same phenomenon. Blind faith and control of every aspect of your life. Energy celibacy. Not just for them (if they do) but everyone. Well fuck you green activists but you aren't ruining my life or anyone elses'. And like Rajendra Pachauri, the boss of IPCC, he has an electric car but gets the limo to work every day, and every green activist from top to bottom is exactly the same. Or delusional.

Why lies will always win

Firstly today's observation. I have had to conclude the average IQ means most people are so bloody thick they will believe absolutely everything those in authority tell them with no questioning or checking for themselves. And Gordon Brown is either stupid or a crook as he saud he couldn't see the recession coming. If he's telling the truth he's too bloody thick to be running a chain of public conveniences, and if not then he's a liar as well as useless. Who wants either running their country?

And the public who blindly accept the story of global warming depsite Al Gore being shown up to be one of the slimiest crooks since Robert Maxwell and Rupert Murdoch (in my opinion there as he's still alive...) and all the actual evidence being enough to convict the tellers of the story rather than the public for causing it. The nasty intelligent people know enough morons can fall for their crap, bigger and bigger lies over time, and make them religiously follow anything where the data comes from outside agencies rather than directly observable. What a fucking fiasco...

Well (and change colour) back to my life. Besides another birthday this week (shows I am a survivor if nothing else) I found another London borough with plenty of old signs, although the similar neighbour just decided in November to get rid of theirs and only found two left when I got to them. When I'm not collecting something I'm lost and aimless (sex counts as well mind you) and anything rare and historical get my interest unlike most women I've come across who like the last one can't see why we do it. Maybe because we can't have babies to absorb all our attention? Who knows.
So I got 6 more new photos yesterday, and not sure what else lies ahead but know I've cracked the big one as Lewisham is the equivalent to getting to The Falklands from this side of London and dual carriageways stop at the Thames. Even the main roads stop every mile or so and go into a one way system in shopping centre, like everywhere else did in the 60s. I suppose that design lends itself to keeping the corresponding signs of the era so can't really complain, but it was a predictable journey from hell.

Few plans left now, one known trip in the week and people over for my annual birthday visit at the weekend and the rest will happen as it does. I also can't understand either of the newspapers who treated my sign story the way Charles treated Diana. ie on and off. I hope the editor's wives treat them the same way now so they can be on the receiving end. Luckily my efforts do not stop and if I don't get newspapers to raise the profile I still raise it myself directly for those in power prepared to listen. Few people seem to want to do a job like this fully. When I found the old train tickets were being abolished I went all over the UK to get them, and on a small scale the same with the signs. I also found a company to print the old tickets and got Vauxhall Motors to use them on their annual Luton-Brighton trip, thus reviving a design lost 11 years earlier by my own efforts. I am trying the same now with the signs as designs change over time, not improve. They can't improve as designs are perceptions, not absolutes. So rather than change everything they should always leave some old examples unless actually dangerous (you've heard about the man eating tickets, surely?).

I hope the week ahead is less boring than it looks, I've done a couple of hundred miles last week and made a reasonable profit, and however good money in the bank is we need something to add to it somehow.

I've been tested

Freedom at last, I've spent 4 1/2 months playing 3 sets of quizzes a day plus a daily one, and it's now over. 8th in the world! I never expected that, and until it looked like I was doing well didn't plan to play them all but had to when it was clear my position was stable. And so glad I did now. So free, and technically nothing more. No fame, at least not yet from the promised and almost expected newspaper article. So although there was the potential for fame (as many others offer work from these articles, rather than being instantly recognised) I may still spend the rest of my life in obscurity. With no woman or income to speak of this was the one door to success that could make my life decent again. Not this time. So just freedom at the moment, and no other projects at all at the moment. Although most projects are sent to me, I can't actually initiate them myself so totally out of my hands.

The women are no better but that's been the same for years. The last one (boring and psychotic) went back with her old boyfriend, and probably the best thing. Three from Friends Reunited are unanimous in ignoring me, all sent messages one way or another and none have returned. Two are very distant which is what stopped much happening the first time, and one more of a friend who clearly doesn't want more now either. But so hard to meet anyone new dragging the past is the only method that could work for the handful of women who are currently single there. But I'm used to that now and fame brings everything else with it. But that's not here either so just the freedom.

No plans now, no need either. Having thought more and more about making sure the computer's working since January to play the quizzes, it won't matter now. I can go to bed whenever I want and the only useful project to follow would be to have another IQ test to join Mensa, but besides the practice I need to try not to be caught out like I was last time when I didn't (they ask you to but charge a fortune) there's no guarantee I'll pass of course. You can't get higher than your best but can easily get lower. I may have a go if the dry run tests get better results. Mensa is the other best way to meet women and friends, and opens the door to a good many jobs as well (no, I won't be looking) if you have it on the form.
So, a week ahead with a few work bookings and little else known. Nothing new there. And more potential for aggravation I needn't bore you with here. I will see.

While I'm here...

Speculation is the fuel of the media, and I am no better, except I admit no news allows speculation as it's human nature. I have many starts and few finishes, and even the finishes are graded by their effects. Most are good to have done but have no effect afterwards. The TV programmes would have both a possible delayed reaction plus the ability to make more on the back of them. One more on Saturday, the biggest so far but not in this country. These have the biggest potential for my life since getting my degree almost half my life ago, although the results are a lot vaguer and longer term. But repeats alone have meant despite one channel being pulled in the UK I must have been on about 10 times in the last year in this country, however few watch it.

I often struggle to make plans when old ones are done, and producing more paintings is fine but doesn't sell any more. I'm ordering another photo album this week as I have enough new photos to make one, but haven't yet got round to making more sales trips. Maybe when the weather improves. The female situation has slightly improved, one possible and one new arrival. Of course if both prove goers I'll make my choice, but so far one is going in about first gear.

Other than that I just looked up to find Mensa have changed the rules since my disastrous attempt to allow any official test results for entry. Pity they didn't then as mine was in 1971, one of the two involved has definitely died and the other was probably older so little chance of any contact. Why we weren't all given our results in writing is truly a mystery- I'm sure my parents paid very nicely for their time and besides me writing the score and components in my diary recall no other documentation. Who would have thought 36 years later I'd have probably been able to use such a document not so much for status but the only missing area I know for a social life. I met some of the potential members at the tests and some of the women would have made very good possible targets (as I see them as a man). And anyone in the place clearly looks at other members first or why bother to join in the first place?
Anyway, besides the fact they take tests at any age I don't think they become obsolete but once taken last for life. So for the lack of proper paperwork plus a change in rules (I certainly didn't see this rule back then) I may have lost my chance for a little extra in life. Academic qualifications are useful in business but have no benefit on your social life. I have asked if there's any way to validate said test results as I have names and dates but am not expecting much back. But I know I could make it now as the qualifications now include my own. A sworn document maybe (ha bloody ha...).

Anyway, I'm so far free this week (a good thing, sod the money), and will be taking videos to replace the ones taken on the digital camera, and they are all easy ones. I also won a word quiz today from I think 128 people which was quite satisfying. It all helps.
