Favourite songs

While I'm at it, here are my favourite songs (as opposed to instrumentals). I will add as I think of more.

Of course I begin with:

Ag Pleez Deddy- Jeremy Taylor, followed by (in no particular order)
Land of Make believe- Bucks Fizz
Mirrors- Sally Oldfield
Postman's Knock- Ashley Hutchings
Torpedoes- Havana let's go!
Close to you- Carpenters
Listen to what the man said- Paul McCartney and Wings
Coulter's candy- various
Tell my ma- various

Some are well known, others are so obscure you won't even find them on the internet (except my sites). Please add yours below :)

Here's the lyrics to Land of Make Believe by Bucks Fizz:

THE LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE - 16/01/1982
2 weeks at #1 - 16 weeks on chart

Stars in your eyes, little one
Where do you go to dream
To a place, we all know
The land of make believe

Shadows, tapping at your window
Ghostly voices whisper will you come and play
Not for all the tea in China
Or the corn in Carolina
Never, never ever
They're running after you babe

Run for the sun, little one
You're an outlaw once again
Time to change, Superman
He'll be with us while he can
In the land of make believe

Something nasty in your garden's waiting
Patiently, till it can have your heart
Try to go but it won't let you
Don't you know it's out to get you running
Keep on running
They're running after you babe

Run for the sun, little one
You're an outlaw once again
Time to change, Superman
He'll be with us while he can
In the land of make believe

Your world is turning
From night to day
Your dream is burning far, far away

Into the blue
You and I
To the circus in the sky
Captain Kids
On the sand
With the treasure close at hand
In the land of make believe

In the land of make believe

Run for the sun, little one
You're an outlaw once again
Time to change, Superman
He'll be with us while he can
In the land of make believe

Run for the sun, little one
You're an outlaw once again
Time to change, Superman
He'll be with us while he can
In the land of make believe

I've got a friend who comes to tea
And no-one else can see but me
He came today
But had to go
To visit you
You never know

Here the lyrics to Mirrors by Sally Oldfield:

O TOP - O... - Oldfield Sally Lyrics - Mirrors Lyrics

Oh we are mirrors in the sun and we brightly shine
We are singing and dancing in perfect time
There is nothing in the world that we can do
To stop the light of love come shining through

And the fire of a newborn moment is shining round you
Kiele aloha
Hey, a perfect stranger, a feeling of you,
Kiele aloha
Hey, come be with me for we are, we are, we are...

...Perfect mirrors in the sun and we brightly shine
We are singing and dancing in perfect time
There is nothing in the world that we can do
To stop the light of love come shining through

And the fire of a golden light is shining round you
Kiele aloha
Hey, the wind is cold, and I long to hold you
Kiele aloha
Hey, come be with me for we are, we are, we are

We are perfect mirrors in the sun and we brightly shine
We are singing and dancing in perfect time
There is nothing in the world that we can do
To stop the light of love come shining through

And the streets are filled with bells, and the sky was falling
Kiele aloha
There are so many things I long to tell you, can you here me calling
Kiele aloha
Hey, come be with me for we are, we are, we are

We are perfect mirrors in the sun and we brightly shine
We are singing and dancing in perfect time
There is nothing in the world that we can do
To stop the light of love come shining through

We are mirrors in the sun and we brightly shine
We are singing and dancing in perfect time
There is nothing in the world that we can do
To stop the light of love come shining through

We are mirrors in the sun and we brightly shine
We are singing and dancing in perfect time
There is nothing in the world that we can do
To stop the light of love come shining through

As far as older music, I should warn you it is an eclectic mix.

1. Sinfonia Da Requiem, Op. 20:Dies Irae - Britten
2. Sorrow - Merseybeats
3. My Time After a While - Buddy Guy
4. Chocolate and Strawberries - The Januaries

Thanks guys, you've been very busy!
Al, I've not been around much this week as the builders were (and are) here. Back to normal Monday, should be finished this coming week and I'll put in a review. We share a lot of views so far.
